The Price Changed: €5 to $12.99

I said €5 for a year. LeManager will be $12.99, and the older posts saying otherwise are staying up.

The Price Changed: €5 to $12.99

If you’ve read this blog for any length of time you’ve seen me write €5. It’s in the post about postponing the launch, it’s in dev diary #2, it’s in the piece about why LeManager exists at all. I meant it every time.

LeManager is going to be $12.99 (€11.99, £9.99).

Why it moved

The reason is that the game I’m pricing now isn’t the game I priced then. When I wrote €5 I was costing out a focused Championship Manager 3 clone built in a few months. Since then the match engine was rewritten in C++, team chemistry shipped early, the finance system went dynamic, and the whole thing absorbed an extra year of work. €5 was a fair price for what I described in 2025. It isn’t a fair price for what I’ll be shipping.

There’s a version of this post where I dress that up as a strategy. It wasn’t. I underpriced the game because I underestimated it.

What hasn’t changed

One purchase. No season passes, no microtransactions, no cosmetics, no artificial complexity to sell you the solution to. Everything I’ve said about that still stands, and $12.99 is still less than a round of drinks for a game I intend you to lose entire evenings to.

The old posts are staying up

I thought about going back and quietly editing €5 to $12.99 everywhere it appears. I’m not going to. Those posts were true on the day they were written, and a dev blog that silently rewrites itself is worth less than one that leaves its mistakes visible. If you find a €5 in the archive, it’s dated, and now it has this post sitting next to it.

Until next time. Just one more match.
