Patch notes

What changed in the current playtest build, v0.20, released 2026-10-03.

Something already broken? Check the known issues before reporting it on the Discord.

⚠️ v0.20 is not compatible with v0.19 saves. The new match engine and the updated world need a fresh career.

New Features

  • Brand-new match engine, built the other way round. The old engine decided what happened first (a tackle, a shot, a goal) and then moved the players to fit it. Now the players and the ball move on the pitch first, and every event is simply what happened: a tackle happens because two players actually met, a goal because the ball actually crossed the line. No more tackles from six metres, deflections off nobody or players teleporting.
  • Players decide from what they see. Each player reads the space around him and picks his action from it; his attributes shape what he tries and how well it comes off.
  • Morale now matters on the pitch. A happy player plays better; an unhappy one can let you down on matchday. Keeping your promises, rewarding players with a new contract and handling incidents well now pay off in results, not just in a quieter dressing room. Some players are also more consistent than others, so expect good and bad days.
  • 3D match view with animated pawns, several camera views (including isometric views that follow the play), rolling advertising boards, staff on the touchline and player names that adapt to the view.
  • The whole world plays real matches. Every AI fixture is now generated with full match data, so players in other leagues have real stats.
  • Transfer fees in instalments. Pay a fee in full, or part now and the rest in yearly instalments (from half now and half next year, up to 20% now and four yearly payments), as long as the plan fits inside the player’s contract. Sellers prefer cash, so a longer plan needs a slightly higher fee. The finance screen shows what you owe and what you are still owed, and AI clubs use instalments too, within what they can afford.
  • Miss a payment and the Financial Control Committee steps in. You get 10 days to get your balance back above zero; after that, a registration ban: no new signings until the end of the next transfer window. Your scouts keep working during a ban, so your list is ready when it is lifted.
  • Sell what you’re owed to the bank. When a club owes you instalments, you can sell the rest of that deal to the bank today, at a discount (about 96% of next year’s money, less for payments further away). AI clubs only do it as a last resort, to avoid a ban.
  • Player career history. Season records, a season timeline and a career log of each player’s key events.
  • Classic and Modern skins are included. Soon, you will be able to create and share your own skins. Screens and pages have changed a lot.
  • German language. LeManager is now available in German, alongside English, French and Spanish.
  • Choose your currency. Show every amount in euros, pounds, dollars or yen from the settings.

Fixes & Improvements

Match Engine

  • The old match engine has been retired.
  • AI clubs and Auto Fill now keep players in their natural positions.

Ratings & Match Screens

  • Player ratings now better reflect the quality of their performances.
  • Overall rework of the match screen.
  • Isometric views now frame both corners of the goal line.

Commentary

  • Commentary now follows up on what happens after a shot.
  • Commentary now clearly indicates when the referee plays advantage or brings play back for the original foul.
  • Commentary lines rewritten in a more natural broadcast style, in English, French and Spanish.

Transfers & Scouting

  • You can now manage loan offers.
  • Adding a player to your shortlist no longer automatically sends a scout to evaluate him.
  • “Keep watching” on a scout recommendation now keeps your scout reporting on the player, without adding him to your shortlist.
  • Loan negotiations can now be started directly from scout reports.
  • A player’s market status is now shown in scout reports.
  • Scout report history. When a scout reports on a player again, a “What changed” panel compares it with his previous report (confidence, recommendation, ability and potential). The full history of each scout’s reports is kept in the player profile.
  • Scout reports now have a “Check our cover” link to see how the player fits against your squad at his position.
  • Shortlisted players can be previewed in your current squad.
  • The comparator only lists players who can play the same position.
  • Improved AI squad management, including contract renewals and incoming transfers.
  • Scouts now recommend players your club can actually afford, with bargains first.
  • Countering an unsolicited bid with an asking price no longer puts the player on the transfer list.

World & Economy

  • Wages are now priced on each league’s own scale: signing a player outside the biggest leagues no longer costs several times the wage of a comparable player already at the club.
  • Selling leagues such as Portugal and Belgium now count player sales in their budgets.
  • Newly promoted clubs no longer start far below the level of their new division.

Squad & Contracts

  • Underpaid players now ask for their fair wage at renewal, instead of a small raise on a salary far below their value.
  • Injured players no longer train or improve while in the medical room, and weekly training now counts the days each player actually trained.
  • Playing-time complaints only count matches since the player joined, and players now actually complain when they are left on the bench match after match.
  • A second yellow now counts as a yellow card in the statistics; the red only marks the sending-off.
  • Injuries picked up during a match now get their proper name (strain, pull, tear) and the matching fitness impact in the medical hub and career log.

Player Profile

  • Several tabs renamed and merged.

Club Hub

  • Improved Hub reports.
  • Window Roundup messages now show loans as loans, not free transfers.
  • #tactics is now #training, since it carries the weekly training report.
  • A channel’s red dot now clears once you have dealt with its urgent messages (it used to stay on in #transfers after a sale).
  • Channel names, tooltips and player conversations are now translated in every language.
  • Player conversations no longer show the staff quick-reply buttons.

Other Improvements

  • Filters and position in screens are remembered when you navigate away.
  • Massively improved performance.
  • Fixed the in-game clock occasionally jumping backwards before a match.
  • Wages now follow your weekly or monthly preference on every screen.
  • Dates are now shown in European format everywhere.
  • Counted words now take the right singular or plural (“1 month”, “1 goal”) in every language.
  • Spanish translation reviewed.
